Our Rug Cleaning just got even better!

We just got a new Rugbadger into our rug cleaning studio. This is an industrial rug dusting machine that allows us to get even more dirt out of your area rugs. Before the Rugbadger, we would dust a rug over and over (forever it seemed), trying to make sure that we were removing as much dry soil as possible before beginning our rug cleaning procedures. Why is thorough rug dusting so important? Because dirt acts like little saw blades cutting and abrading your rugs delicate fibers each time you walk on it and vacuum it. Synthetic rugs are basically plastic filaments and once they’re scratched they can’t reflect light like they did when they were new. Natural rugs, such as wool, cotton and silk, are broken down over time by accumulated abrasive soils. This soil buildup causes the fibers to loose resilience and wear down. Since it is impossible to reverse wear on a rug, it is imperative that we remove as much dry soil as possible with our rug cleaning procedures. With this machine, we can pull several pounds of dirt from even the smallest rugs.
How does it work? This machine is used to thoroughly dust your rug prior to cleaning procedures. Rest assured, we still hand clean all our area rugs. Your rug is thoroughly vacuumed from the topside. Then, we place it face down onto the dusting grids. We then “badger” the rug from the backside to loosen and remove dry particulate soils- aka: DIRT! The Rugbadger works by simply vibrating the rug with rotating flexible rubber straps to loosen embedded soils. Some rugs are too thin or too delicate to qualify for this dusting procedure but for most rugs we can utilize this new state of the art rug duster.
