What is a Rug Spa?
By Cory | January 22, 2010
Ok, Ok, If you are wondering what a rug spa is, we took a picture while we were working the other day so you can see kinda how we got the name.
These rugs are being delicately cleaned in our rug baths. This is by far the most thorough cleaning available for area rugs. The bottom bathing area contains a rug that had come into to contact with pet urine several times and the owner wanted us to remove the odor. The top rug is a Persian hand woven rug. Before this rug cleaning picture was taken, both rugs had been thoroughly dusted using our Rugbadger (I’ll post some pics of that machine soon as many of you have expressed an interested in learning more about it).
After the rugs were dusted, we vacuumed them front and back. Then they were each appropriately pretreated according to their fabric type and soiling condition. Afterwards, they were submersed for their “bubble bath.” After appropriate dwelling time, the water will be circulated and then removed. The rugs will undergo a gentle flushing with a specially made rug flushing wand. This is to make sure that all the dirt, urine, cleaning solutions, etc is thoroughly flushed out of the rug. This will be done on the front and back of these rugs. Following that, we will extract, groom, and dry the rug.
Yes, it takes a long time to do all this but good things come to those who wait. And Good things came to the owners of these two rugs!
